Are you ready to join our expanding team of talented electrical engineers? Our Municipal Water and Wastewater team is growing its footprint in the Rocky Mountain region, centered in Denver, CO. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design efforts for treatment plant expansions, pump station rehabilitation, greenfield projects, electrical equipment replacements, and SCADA upgrade projects.

The engineer in this role will work with project managers, staff and assistant electrical engineers, designers, drafters, estimators, and other engineering disciplines to ensure that project quality, budget, and schedule are met. This role also offers career growth opportunities for managing electrical and/or I&C-specific projects as well as participating in projects utilizing various delivery methods to create world-class designs meeting our client's needs.The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design and specification of electrical systems associated with municipal and industrial drinking and wastewater pumping facilities and treatment plants.

From conceptual phase through completion, the Senior Electrical Engineer will lead in the execution of complex projects requiring the use of advanced techniques for the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and studies from inception to completion.Electrical systems include low and medium-voltage power, lighting, SCADA and process controls, process instrumentation, voice/data networking, fiber optics, emergency power systems, UPS, security systems, CCTV, fire alarm, and commercial/industrial facility building systems.Research and compile project related data as required.

Expertly apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.Provide quality reviews of engineering drawings, specifications, studies, estimates, etc., on drinking water, wastewater, distribution & collection systems, and industrial water and wastewater projects.

Perform the following studies for water and wastewater treatment electrical and control systems: power supply studies, short-circuit studies, coordination studies, and arc flash studiesPerform field inspections, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients.Develop engineer's opinion of probable construction costs for Electrical portions of projects at various phases of design.Provide construction administration support, including submittal review, procurement, response to Contractor's requests for information, review and approval of change orders, and development of record of construction documentsCollaborate with multi-disciplined teams across multiple office locations.

Developing Technical MemorandumsProposal WritingMentor junior engineersAll other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.OR Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering a plus and may be substituted for one year of experience.A minimum of Seven (7) years of electrical engineering experience is required. Five years of experience must include designing electrical systems associated with municipal and industrial drinking and wastewater pumping facilities and treatment plants.

Professional Engineer (PE) License is required with ability to reciprocate as needed.Experience in designing and executing municipal water/wastewater treatment facilities via design-bid-build, design-build, or other alternative delivery methods is a plus. Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT, and other software packages, including SKM or ETAP is desired.

Working knowledge of IEEE standards, NFPA 70 (NEC), 70E, and 820 preferred. Applicable design experience could include power systems studies (load flow and short circuit analysis, coordination, and arc flash studies), lighting systems, and network design for municipal and government facilities.Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI and IEEE Standards. Strong computer skills (eg Microsoft Office Suite).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.Experience working with Permitting review agencies is preferred.

Experience with professional construction services for electrical portion of the projects including submittal reviews, request for information, change order, construction sequence reviews, commissioning activities and developing as-built documentation.This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to a broad area of assignments.Must be capable of devising new approaches to solve complex problems.

Previous experience with similar consulting firms is preferred. Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.

Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.Ability to travel.Compensation Range $155,000 - $215,000The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
